Hi! We have a new vinyl pool with salt cell. We’ve been testing at home and continue to have low FC and CYA after shocking and turning the cell to 100% output. I took a sample to Leslie’s and they arrived at the same result. We do not see any algae and the pool is clear and appears clean. Haven’t added stabilizer, yet. Just shocked again and will add stabilizer tomorrow. Any ideas on why we have such low readings?

FC .21
PH 8
CYA 5
Phosphates 1254

Thank you in advance!

Great! Run a full set.
You need to start by adding chlorine now and some stabilizer soon. The K2006C does not measure 5 CYA.

Okay, added shock tonight, will add the sock full of stabilizer tomorrow.

Right, I’m sorry, the home test for CYA, the black dot never disappeared and Leslie’s told us 5 CYA.

Thank you!

Good. Liquid chlorine I hope.

No need to bother with pool store testing. We do not provide guidance based on it. Always post your own testing.
