Ok, so our fiberglass inground (Saltwater) is almost complete. I just bought my first item, a floating turtle thermometer which was probably way more exciting psychologically than it should have been, lol. But it got me thinking, what are a list of items that you'd recommend to have as a new pool owner?

Is this what you mean by a hair net? Something like a mesh sock that goes around the skimmer basket? That's a great recommendation. I'm hoping my golden retriever goes in the pool and I didn't even think about something like this. Plus my wife's hair haha.

Definitely the test kit (with the smart stir!) and some sort of hair net or skimmer sock. The ones you posted will work great. Allergy season is upon us in PA and it will save you with pollen too. Not sure what type of filter you have but if you have a filter that needs backwashed, my back wash hose was a very good $25 investment.

x2 on the PoolMath app and the Smart Stir. The Smart Stir sounds like a gimmicky product but man it makes testing so much faster and easier.

I was going to say some fun new swimwear and something to float around on after all the work you have put in. But this seems like a more serious thread so I am going to suggest a sturdy pool net for skimming off leaves and random stuff that falls in. This is the one I have which works great. I mostly bought it for the lifetime warranty. :

I stopped 'reccomending' them because it was too cliche and nobody listened to everyone reccomending them. So I started telling folks to go try and take somebody's away and be prepared to fight dirty.

After a few months the hard way she broke down and got one, and she gets it now.

If that's not clear enough for you, the last thing she named with herself in mind, was her child. Just sayin.

Pretty much what happened. My hand swirl method was just not up to par. Took my overall test time for a full set of tests down to less than 5 minutes and it’s so much easier to observe the color changes since I’m not focusing on swirling. It used to be a whole scene.
