New Pool In Central Florida

What did you decide with the returns?
Decided to let it go, the one that will be the strongest will be the steps at the shallow end which is the furthest away from the skimmer. The one that should be the weakest is the closest to the skimmer, so hopefully all will be OK.

Texture and painting today of the coping!

I know it is hard to see, but the texture and color (kahlua cream) look good. :goodjob:

Just got word that pavers for the deck are going to be installed middle of next week, hopefully the stacked stone and waterfall go in soon.

Paver installation today!

Using the Wacker Compactor

They layed the pattern fast!

I threw a wrench into the project when I decided that I wanted some more deck space.
Made me, the paver contractor, and the paver supplier happy, the workers...not so much.

Digging extra lawn away, and getting rid of all of those end cuts.

Love your pool. We chose the same waterline tile for ours so its nice to see installed. We live in Tampa and broke ground this week. They shot the concrete today, woohoo.

Thank you very much and good luck on your build. Just so you know, these people demand photos of your construction.

Today the electrician/plumber was here to set the equipment and run the electric. We also had some palm trees delivered and planted.

Also today, we had a safety inspection from the county, which needed to be done so they could finish the pool and fill it.

I have been changing the gates to swing to the outside, moving latches to at least 54 inches high, etc., etc.

Now the problem. For 2 weeks the gates would self close perfectly, every time I tried it. Then, yesterday the wind changed direction and created a tunnel effect between two houses and I had to add a little bit more hardware to make it self closing. Each hinge is self closing, plus the springs.

The only problem, if the wind is blowing from the West, I am afraid it just might cut your arm off if caught in there it shuts so hard. So much for safety.

By the way, we did pass the inspection.

The day is here! Interior guys showed up bright and early.

After washing and cleaning the interior, they start.

No concrete pump needed just two guys with wheelbarrows.

They finished in about 5 hours, then filling began.

I did remember to get a beginning reading on the water meter to see exactly how much water will fill the pool!

Looking very nice!! So how much water?
Still filling, but after 4 1/2 hours, about 2600 gallons. There is one nice thing about smoking hot Florida summers. The water where it is filled so far is reading about 88 degrees. So we will not be waiting for the heater to get the pool temp up. In fact, I believe we will be using the cooling function on the heat pump pretty soon.

Hey how much was your heat pump and whats its cooling capacity?
I know you can get this heat pump for about $3,600 to your door. We negotiated ours into the quote.

They say that the BTU's of this is supposed to be 110,000. I don't know just how true that is though. You can look up our model, it is a Rheem 6350TI-E HC.
