New Pool Build - Orlando, FL - Completed!

Re: New Pool Build - Orlando, FL (Updated 9/26/13)

Not necessarily, just different shades of grey. Each pool owner will have a different opinion of filters. My opinion is I like sand better than carts since backflushing is much easier than cleaning a cart (imo). However, if you size the cart big enough, cleaning it should not be needed very often unless you expect to get a lot of debris in the pool. If you keep on top of the pool chemistry (as taught on tfp), then your pool should stay clear of algae and you will not have to mess with that type of cleanup.

Plumbing is done and inspection passed. Tile and rock work start on Monday. This PB is moving fast!

We are now on day 2 of tile, stone, and rock work. It is really starting to look nice now! Tennessee flagstone coping is almost complete. We are waiting on a truck from Tennessee to arrive tomorrow which will have the large boulders that are going to be used to build the grotto.

They started the spa spillover which has been widened from the original design to incorporate more of a natural rock flow.

Very time consuming to stack natural stone and get it to look this good! They did a great job.

They opened up the spa spillover and added additional stone and rock to it.

The grotto is much larger than expected. We were very pleased with the outcome.

Pavers are in! Next up is the screen enclosure this week, pool finish, and electrical. I also power washed all the rocks and got the algae and other nastiness off of them to make them look much nicer.

Re: New Pool Build - Orlando, FL (Updated 11/4/13)

Small comment/question. I'm noticing a lot of 90 degree turns in the plumbing and equipment hookups/valves on the pad. While this seems more the norm I had a PB tell me they use only 45 degree joints to help with flow and efficiency. Will this really help that much or is it not worth the effort?

Finally able to post completed pictures. Finally got around to taking some pictures.

Total build time was about 11 weeks. Some of the delay was me very being picky with the rock work, but at the end of the day it came out amazing. We love everything about the pool and how it turned out. Now we cant wait for summer so we can get in! Spa takes about 25 min to get from 60 degrees to 100, which is great.
