New pool build in Nicaragua

I loved reading your pool build; so fascinating and also humbling. Thanks for posting the update - and with a video above and under water!! All that ya'll did is just amazing and beautiful. I know you and your family enjoy every minute of it! Have a great summer! Suz.

Hi,
I am going to build on my land near the Tola beaches next year. I realize you were the general contractor for your pool and did a great deal of work yourself , saving much expense. I have been quoted $US150 sq ft for a pool ( nearly twice the build price for the house)
Can you suggest a contractor for a pool build in our area?
Thanks,
Evan

Almost a year and we finally completed all the construction here.

Lighting is finished and we built a gazebo roof in the one corner of the pool on the left.

For those of you wondering what is behind the wall.

We constructed a restaurant and sports bar! Back of the property is residential and front is commercial.

Here is a walk around of the whole project. The pool is private for our home attached to the pool and patio garden. Other side of the wall is the business.

The sports bar is here: https://www.facebook.com/ElPirataSanJorge/

Same guys helped us with the restaurant as with the pool and patio.

Next, we remodel the house.

Hi Evan,

I have private messaged you.

We are in Rivas, only about 25 minutes from you. If you are in Nicaragua now, you are welcome to stop by.

I have not logged in here for a while, that is why it has taken so long.

$150.00 / sf is serious GRINGO PRICES!

The layer is nearly 1/4". The thinset IS the grout. After the tile is "stuck" fairly (2 hours or so depending) well, you apply another layer of the the special thinset for between the tiles mixed a bit thinner with a rubber/trowel/squeegee. That's it! Be careful to not let it dry fully before you squeegee it.

Cleanup just before filling the pool with 5:1 muriatic acid. Not much to cleanup at all.

The special thinset is a modified latex with some special stuff in it because of the sun/heat here to help curing. It is used everywhere here. Made in Costa Rica.

Can you let us know exactly what that product is?

Also, can I rent your guys for about a month?
(I’m joking. I think. )
