New owner-builder (kinda) in Arizona

You might want to keep your CYA level lower until the PB release the water chemistry to you. They might hold the old 1-3 ppm FC max and if you have 60 CYA you may regret it.

Your natural evaporation at night will drop your water temperatures. You will find it will balance at around 88 - 90 F. That is what our pool settles at here in Laughlin.

I'm the PB & the plaster company says I'm on my own. I'm shooting for 60 CYA for now.

Neeeeeeed some daytime photos! Pretty please??

The guys are working on the decking right now, so I couldn't get any shots from the other side.

I will take more when they leave!

That is a good temp drop overnight.....makes the water refreshing instead of bathwater LOL

Yeah, that's not too bad. I think it's gonna be on the warm side. It's only 9700 gallons & I get full sun - northern exposure.

I was thinking about installing some posts along the wall behind the pool. Maybe I could attach those shade sails from the house across the pool to the posts for shade. I'm not sure it's HOA compliant though....

With a light color plaster you will stay in that upper 80 range. The pools I see on here in Las Vegas and Phoenix with dark bottoms - yikes! They could easily see mid to upper 90F water temp!

Shading might help a bit. But the real factor is night time temperatures. They drive your initial water temp in the am.

Watch out if you use sprayers or deck jets. They drive the pH and CH up quick with the aeration and evaporation. We put in deck jets and don't use them, too noisy.

Take care.

My numbers last night looked pretty good. Let me know if there is anything else I should be doing.
I added a little acid after this test & a little liquid chlorine this morning.

FC 3
CC 0
PH 7.8
TA 130
CH 250
CYA 60

Pool math says I should add 11oz of calcium chloride. I can't believe my water isn't too hard....
Should I go ahead and add this? I've never added it in my other pool.

Water is 84 this morning! Yay!
