Hi All.
New here and first time posting. I've done a few internet searches on my pool issues but have yet to find resolutions nor answers.
Our inground pool and intelli touch I5 system was installed in 2005. A new Pentair Intelliflo variable speed pump was installed pre pandemic. Everything was running well; no issues with the pool schedule turning on and off. However, this past July 4th, I tried turning on the waterfall feature and water slide on from the indoor panel, but neither was turning on. So, I went to the Intelli Touch panel and hit the "reset" button which is where my problem started, more specifically with the pool schedule.
The pool pump and filter would no longer run on its scheduled time (0130-1100 hrs) everyday. Now the pool pump and filter would turn on almost every hour, then shut off 5-10 minutes later. This would continue until I figured out how to set a schedule from the Intelliflo pump. But, I could not set the proper time on the clock of the Intellliflo. For some unknown reason, the clock on the Intelliflo would show a different time from what I entered. Several days later, my pool service person was able to fix the clock on the Intelliflo and set a schedule for the pool to run (from 0800-1600 hrs).
Hoping my problem was resolved, I noticed the following day or early morning hours, my pool pump turned on at 0130 hrs. No big deal cuz this was the scheduled time as previously mentioned. However, the pump would continue to run to around 1600 hrs. I informed my pool guy of this.
According to my pool service person, his pool electrician stated it was a motherboard issue. Long story short, the board needs to replace with a new smart panel cuz Pentair no longer sells the boards for the I5.
The pool schedule had been running fine without any issues. I only started experiencing these issues after I hit the "reset" button on the Intelli touch.
Before I spend $3k on new IntelliTouch system and indoor remote wall panel, how do I know the I5 board is the issue?
I read a thread on this site about a "firmware refresh." Any advice would be most appreciated. TIA.
