Hey all, long time listener, first time caller! I'm the proud owner of a new pool/spa build in Austin, TX. Started the project in May and just filled the pool on Saturday August 27th. The PB's startup tech is swamped so I went through the iAqualink programming and I've got most things working. Tomorrow is the first day I can add any chemicals and looking for some guidance. I have Liquid Chorine, Chlorine Pucks, Calcium Chloride, and some other stuff. Pool is 15x33 and about 18k gallons. I tested for PH, TA and CH and the results are:
PH 7.2
TA 130
CH 150

Looking for guidance. I can do a full test tonight and post the results if it helps.68339722197__1153C600-B2D7-4C94-802F-F559833AB134.jpeg68342793256__E89B00F6-9B06-4F84-B739-1B88297C1720.jpegIMG_1248.jpeg

80,

Very nice-looking pool!!! :goodjob:

But, I have to ask, what is the long empty pit next to the pool for?

Thanks,

Jim R.
Hey Jim, super great question, it's a large planter bed that will get filled with a layer of base rock, then a soil separator then fill dirt/loam. This is for plants and such next to the pool. It's also a spot to install some landscape audio to fire back towards the pool.

Pool looks great! Do you already have one of the recommended test kits?

The pucks will be useful for bringing your CYA up to where it needs to be, after that they'll be good to keep around for vacation. After that, it's all liquid chlorine unless you've got a SWCG (and since you're in Texas, I'll bet dollars to donuts you do not). Welcome!
