Also, since the filters came back not too bad, I'll run the Dolphin throughout the day as well. Probably less wasteful than vacuuming to waste, and it doesn't seem like it's going through an inch of muck at least.

Zeo does not like high flow rates. What is your flow rate? Backwashing should be done more frequently and also with flow no higher than 25 GPM. For filtering i use 17-23 GPM.

The closest I can find is that max GPM is 80 for 2" pipes. I assume that would be at max RPM of 3450.
I'm running at 2250 right now. That's about 65% of the max RPM, so 65% of 80 would be 52 if GPM translates directly like that.
I'd need to be running at about 25% to get down to 20 GPM, so RPM would be about 862?

I let it run its last cycle and it picked up some more algae and a couple twigs (WTF, I don't have trees with twigs.)
FC went from 16-11, in the last 2 hours, which hopefully means it's killing the stuff that got stirred up. It is also almost 90 mid-day, tho. I bumped FC back to 16 or so. CC holding at 1.0.

Flowrate is not linear vs rpm.
I suspect 25 gpm is somewhere around 1400-1600 rpm with your system.

Good to see a drop in FC. Keep things stirred up. Air temperature does not mean much. Sun is impacting your FC at elevated levels, but not by much over normal.
To the extent water clarity is an indicator, the tile line on the third step in is now faintly visible. Not sure if the water actually got more clear, or if it's the lighting, but I don't recall having seen it before (during this process).
You can definitely see more detail, even in pics! That is a good place to take a status pic each day or so

I haven't visited your thread for a while, and others have been steadily by your side. But I too am intrigued about the progress of the SLAM. Whenever I doubt the progress of a SLAM, I go back simple basics to make sure everything is still on track:
- Accurate CYA reading so I am confidence about the FC level I should be at; critical
- Maintaining that SLAM Shock FC level
- Ensuring I have good water circulation; not much will happen if the water isn't moving everywhere across the pool
- Brush often to stir it all up
- Inspect, inspect, inspect; ensure there are no pockets or hiding areas (behind a light, ladder rails, main drain cover, etc).
- Backwash when filter pressure increases ~ 25%
As long as all of those things are on-track progress should be good. The only other unknown variable that sometimes plagues a pool is the occasional "mystery snake oil" product added to water without anyone's knowledge. As long as the chlorine is fighting algae only, and not some store product residue, it will work.

I'll switch to this location. The ladder shot I have been using will eventually show the steps up the ladder, but the tile lines on the steps are a bit more distinctive markers.
Lost another 3 ppm FC over two hours - from 16.5 to 13.5. It might be starting to break, and it seems like agitating it more is helping. Kinda wish I had tomorrow off work.
You can turn your returns so the point down to help stir things up while you are gone.

Down about 4ppm last night, from 17.5 to 13.5. I'll bump it to 18 or so before work, and hopefully it'll keep above 12 for the day.

It's still green, but noticeably more clear even than yesterday. I can make out the outline of the cover plate in the spa, and the second step by the ladder. I can see the pool light, and the overall color is much lighter. The chlorine is doing its thing

The three in the pool are aimed roughly parallel to the walls. The only one that moved was the one in the shallow end near the steps with the tile, and I aimed that one down. It seemed like it was the threading that moved, rather than they eyelet itself, so that one may just be more loose than the others. The one in the spa is pointed up, and also stuck tight.
When I can get in the water I'll fiddle with them some more, or maybe replace them. There are some other fixes that need doing (like the skimmer needs a door) but I'll get to that after the water is sorted.
