Hi folks, we live in Phoenix, AZ where as you can imagine pools are pretty much a necessity more than a luxury. We have in in-ground pool with in-floor pops but have to use a pool cleaner since our trees matured and creates a lot of debris in the pool. Also, I don't know why the pool salesman didn't try to sell us on a dedicated line for a pool cleaner so we have to feed it through the skimmer bottom and have to clean out the pump basket every day.

I have some Palo Verde close to my pool so I purchased a Betta solar powered skimmer. Helps a lot! And looks like it’s on sale right now.

We did try a robot but it got stuck behind our built-in table. I am afraid that is limiting our options. Does anyone have a preferred pool cleaner? We have a Poolvergnuegen Suction Pool Cleaner (four-wheel model) but the housing just cracked. Should we get another one or try a different brand? Amazon shows a Hayward W32023ADC as their overall pick?

I just saw the above reply and thinking of trying the skimmer: https://a.co/d/djjXIKV. But that only deals with the debris that hasn't sunk to the bottom yet? Maybe it can get to all the leaves before they sink?

If you stick with a suction cleaner then I would suggest you get an in-line leaf trap (the small Hayward version is good). Your pool setup, without a dedicated suction line, means your skimmer is virtually useless when the robot is running and you are loading up your filter with tons of debris that makes it past the strainer pot basket. If you use the inline trap and line the plastic insert with a polypro hairnet, then all the leaves, pollen and sand/silt stays in the trap and not in your pump or filter.

Yes, collecting debris before it sinks. I try to get as much as possible from the surface.
