Hi. I have found TFP last year searching for pool info. Have read these threads since but just now decided to join in as a learning experience that is appreciated.

Have old gunite pool 16 X 32 X 8ft deep that I painted approx 20 yrs ago and recently the pool was past it's time with needing to be redone. The metal piping rusted up last year so started the process to redo the pool. Cut out what old plumbing I could for the 3 returns, the drain and the skimmer. Drilled core holes as needed to replace and add additional plumbing. Now have dual drains, larger skimmer and a vacuum line with 5 returns (1 to be for a solar heater) and added 3/4 inch plumbing for 3 underwater LED's. Removed the tiles, coping and the pool decking. There was about 3/4 inch difference between the tile and the coping from one end of the pool to the other so ended up removing the decking to fix this. In the process of repairing the 5 inch bond beam, have expanded it to 10 inches and added rebar to this expansion. Have a small amount of delamination to repair. Have received quotes to replaster the pool initially and just now am checking into Aquabright. Don't know the costs at the moment and what prepping is required first.

Hey guys. Appreciate the welcome. Will review the Pool School eBook and ABC's Of Pool Chemistry as am sure that I can learn some proper ways to setup the pump, filter, salt chlorine generator, water lines, valves and setting up the chemicals as Marty suggested. Thanks.
