Hi, with the help of this forum I've been able to get a new heater installed.
However, today it was plumbed in and when i turned my entire system on... no heat.
In fact, as far as I can tell, the heater is not even powered. The panel on it doesnt show any signs of life.

It is wired back to a pentair easytouch.
The 2 wire COM line for "HEATER" in the easytouch is wired to the firemans pins.
240V is wired from the panel off the same relay as the pump, to the heater.

You would think that would do it right?

there is a diagnostic light inside the heater wiring panel. it is not lit. But it looks like it only lights for faults.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? the gas line has been opened. I went into the easytouch menus and put the "HEAT->POOL-> on" and set it to 80F. the pool water is 73.
Shouldnt the heater it self show that it is powered in some way.

please help me if you can.I feel so defeated right now.

Since you are running 240v, is the red 240v power plug installed in the heater? It's to the left of the fireman's jumper.

What I would is first confirm the heater by itself is good. Put the firemans's jump back in place and turn the heater on from the heaters panel. I that works, then it would point back to the ET not being set up correctly.

Hi, yes the red plug is the one installed (factory).
I did what you said, removed my cabtyre com cable and used the jumper.
Boom.
Heat. Lots of it too.
So relieved.

Let it run for 30 mins, seemed fine and responding well.
Shut all down and went back to com control from ECT.
nothing. went back to firemans jumper. fine.

Then i adjusted the temperature with firemans jumper on up to 88.(was formerly using 80).
reconnected ect, also set it to 88, vs 80 as original.

ECT now working. I am not 100% sure what is going on here. Was my initial demand value of 80 too low when water temp already 73?
did the unit need a firemans "jump start"? I am wondering what i should set as the max pool heat on the heater itself. maybe whatever max is? i want to make sure the ect can properly send values (+/-) to the heater and not have one setting override another.

any tips? hey at least things are working, no leaks and warm water (need it here in canada, air temps are barely in the 70s today)

Yes you need to adjust the temp on the heater all the way up to 104. So just put the heater on SPA and set it all the way up and then let the ET control the temp.
