New liner with several issues (white marks) and what appears to be a slit above the water line

Hi,

So we just had the liner installed (fill up finished yesterday). I get into the pool this afternoon and noticed there is some dirt from the installation of the liner, so I just begin wiping it with my hand, and I decide to go all around the pool and do this. We chose a dark colored liner, so white marks were really noticeable, but I rubbed My finger over them and the majority of them you could not feel anything really. On one of the marks there appeared to be two slits above the water line and I wasn’t about to stick my finger nail through to make it an actual cut, so I called the pool company who said they’d send someone out next week..but here’s the thing - I looked back at my security cameras and the kid working with the main installer is in most every area where there’s a mark so I think he was digging his nails into it. (The guy said this kid was normally a counter guy).

Picture of pool with new liner and also picture of one of the marks attached. My real question is what would you do or expect the pool company to do for this type of damage? I expect my liners to last over 10 years and if on day one, there’s a slit in the liner , I don’t have a warm fuzzy feeling about that, but .. I am neurotic about my pool. For the amount spent on the liner I expect perfecation. what would you expect the pool company to do? Thanks in advance, Deb

OOOF!!! No Bueno. I'm sorry for that.

If there are actual slits through the liner, (I might not get it) but I would expect a liner replacement.

Don't know what they will do. If they don't replace, it may be down to using a matching sharpie.

I would push for a replacement. If they installed it with those already there then it is on them. If the young installer did them then it is REALLY on them. IF they want to take that part of the liner down make them pay you back for the water and chemicals to balance the water again!

That is what I’m thinking, especially all the chemicals and water. I paid full price I should get a pristine liner. My last liner was still holding water just fine (but faded from SC sun) after 12 years and I expect to get at least that amount of time out of a new liner.
