New liner issues

Spring of this year we had our liner replaced. Since that time we have had one leak and the areas where the top of the linear has pulled out of the retainer. First question I have is that after 30 days post install they want to charge us to fix these types of issues. Is that pretty much industry standard or not? Second question is whether this is indicative of anything else, poor install etc., or just the liner settling in? In other words is this going to be happening all the time grim now on our will the problems slow down and stop?

Thanks

I can post pic when I get home. We have both a light and drain. The leak they found was around the skimmer due to lose screws. We've Been charged for tightening the screws and putting the liner bad in the track. Two separate chargers ad they happened at different times. Now we have two more places out of the track.

I would personally not want to have to pay for the liner popping out of the track for a good long time after it was installed. The fact that it has popped out a few times already and now doing it again is not a good sign in my opinion. We have a vinyl liner pool that is 18 years old and the liner is still attached securely around the entire pool and has never come out since we bought the house 7 years ago. I hate to say it, but it sounds like a poor fit and even poorer company to deal with. Sorry I don't have any real advice on how to fix it, just giving my .02.

My liner is about 4 years old. It was SUPER tight on installation day in the shallow end. It was custom measured as the reason.
But I've never had any issues of popping out.

I have seen liner installations where "liner loc" plastic barbed strips, shoved into the liner track to hold it down are completely missing
or have very few installed. Some installers have used pennies to secure them. This all sounds so weird and unreliable.

A photo might show if you have or supposed to have liner loc to secure your liner.

So they charged for fixing a poor job they did in the first place? I’ve had issues with my liner but it wasn’t after 30 days, it’s when I open it as it seems to pop out over the winter. They said to call them when it did and they’d come fix it, no charge.

How difficult is it to install a linear lock? Is it something I could attempt on my own?
Yes, but I wouldn't on a job where you're having issues (or they'll blame any problems on what you did). I'd tell them you're not paying any more and if they don't fix it, you'll have no option but to give them lousy reviews on Google, Yelp, Yellow Pages, etc. as well as the Better Business Bureau.
