New Intex 32x16x52 build with deck (lots of pictures)

I discovered that when I placed my sand filter where I did that it had the unfortunate side effect of facing the pressure gauge toward the wall making it rather difficult to read. I took this as a good excuse to order one of the fancy big gauges from Tftestkits and a little elbow so I could orient it toward the front of the filter.

What will you be putting under the mulch and pavers to stop weeds and such?

I’ll just use landscape fabric to help stop weeds.

Also, I just came back from Lowes where we placed a big order for a large amount of lumber and pavers. It should be delivered tomorrow and we can get going with the patio and the deck this weekend. I’m going to clear off the porch and remove the screens and frames later tonight.

Use GOOD fabric. Some it better than others. Make sure you get the GOOD kind so you don't have to redo it any time soon!

Big update for today. I woke up at about 9 am to the truck delivering this:

We got started preparing the ground for the pavers. (Ugh... more ground prep)


Then we covered the ground with landscape fabric:

And spread sand over the fabric:

Finally we started laying the PaverBase board and the pavers:





unfortunately we lost our light at the end. And we were short two pieces of the paverbase board, but we’ll probably get those tomorrow and lay the last few pavers. We also need to cut and lay the pavers on the right side. Then we’ll be done with the patio portion of this project and we can move on to the deck portion

Are you loving how that porch looks with out the screen there??? Man that really opened that up great! THEN you got SO much done with the pavers! SWEET! sigh on running out of stuff............just can't do a job without more than one trip!! Just like at my house!

My uncle determines how big a project is by the number of trips you have to take to Lowes.

Thats great because you will be walking around all day hunched over, looking at the ground because back pain. Might as well admire the patio while you're at it. Seriously tho, KILLER JOB it looks awesome !! Bravo Brett.

Small update for today. We wound up taking a break yesterday and didn’t do any work. Today we got the last few pavers in and finished the edge where we needed to cut the pavers down. We also got started on the lower deck.

The lower deck is going to continue to the left and then the upper deck will be on the left side of the pool.
