Pentair plc (PNR) CEO John Stauch on Q1 2022 Results - Earnings Call Transcript
"We are launching our new IntelliFlo 3 pump to create a more efficient flow management experience. We are also launching a higher end version of this pump, with a mini automation system on board to provide the consumer with enhanced control and functionality of their pool."

Anybody know what this is going to be? My guess, as Raypak put wifi on the new AVIA series, pool equipement is going the "internet of things". Wifi, 24 VAC for actuators, relays, intellichlor connection. Could be interesting. At least here in San DIego, the distributors have not had Intelliflo anything for over a year. Have not installed or seen the new Whisperflow VST yet either. Been stuck with Superflo VST's (absolute junk) and putting the motor on Pentair's medium head volute (intelliflo).

Sounds nice but … YIKES! …. All that stuff built into the pump. What happens when one aspect of the “mini automation” system goes bad ? Will it be modular and field repairable ? Would kind of suck to drop $2000 on a pump (because you know they’re going to price it high) and have it turned into a brick because the cheap relay goes bad ….

It should come with a 5 year / 50,000 hour bumper-to-bumper warranty …

Jandy and Hayward are building automation controllers into the VSP electronics. Pentair has to follow. More of a vendor lock in for customers and less ability to mix and match equipment without losing functionality.
