Howdy folks. I've been using and appreciating this site for some time, what a great resource. I put my pool in in 2013 and actually enjoy maintaining it. I've learned a fair amount, and have much to learn. I like to repair things, rather than replace things, and my first inclination is to try it myself. It seems a waste to throw out something that can be repaired. I'm fairly handy, and am working on my sixth decade, so I've seen a thing or two, and fixed more than I've broke. I've lived in Baldwin County since 2004, got tagged with the moniker West Coast by a midwest transplant. The weather in the Alabama coastal plain is tricky, wet periods make chemistry a challenge; dry periods make chemistry a challenge also, since the folks in the local water districts, I suspect, aren't very strict when it comes to phosphorous and chlorine treatment, and adding water to the pool tends to throw things off. Farming, construction activity, and flora add wind-borne bits to the water, and they seem to matter too. Anyway, I look forward to sharing what I may, and learning what it is you folks are willing to share. Thanks for being here.
