New house, New-to-me pool, new adventure!

Don't ruin your clothes.. just jump in neked...:D

Oh my!

Happy to find the brush floating this morning, looks like the chlorine actually ate all the gunk off of it, looks bright and new!

So in my laziness/not thinking brain, I tore down an old entertainment center (the kind with like 15 shelves, pressboard, and not very secure) and put the pieces on top of the outdoor storage where the vacuum brushes and hoses are. Need to relocate it.

Brush down! As in 3.5' down. [emoji55]

Am I getting wet to go get it? And is it safe to leave in the pool until probably tomorrow afternoon?

I dropped my vac head in the deep end last year due to stupidity. It was still GREEN.... I got in.

Pool feels like it is the same... This 5th child is not nearly getting the attention it should, but the living beings get first priority... It's still blue, but still cloudy. I'll try to get an updated picture tomorrow morning.

Marian doing very well, just crossed over 5 weeks and looks much less fragile.

I'm still whole heartedly committed to this pool and you guys with getting it clear, but it's testing me...

Seeing several other pools around the neighborhood that look nice and shiny clear and useable doesn't help! [emoji196]

I've gone through 13 gallons of the leftover chlorine, and just went through the 20th gallon of 10% Walmart special ($2.50/each).

I just need to vacuum and stop putting it off.

Feel like I'm stringing you guys along. [emoji856]

In full disclosure, normal operating pressure is about 15-16psi. It doesn't go much above 19-20psi unless I brush to where I'm seeing a cloud get kicked up.

One thing I have noticed, however, is after leaving filter on for a while (say from time I leave for work and time I get home) it starts to get air in the system again. I backwash and it "solves" the problem. I do this about twice per day.

I think I am still dealing with an air leak aren't I?

That is my time frame also with my sand filter.

That is BLUE! water. Making great progress. Next you should see the clearing up start to happen. THIS is the S.L.O.W. part.......it seems to take forever!

For now, with the pool still being so cloudy, just do each until the site glass runs "clear".

The reason I brought it up in the first place was because I was thinking of having you add DE to your filter. But if you are already back washing twice a day, it's not a good idea.

Can your filter/pump run 24/7?

Update!!!

Well finally got the entertainment center pieces off pool box, got out the vacuum brush and went to town. After draining nearly 2" of the pool by waste, it is actually a little bit of a huge difference. I THINK (I say THINK with a really big hopefulness about it) I can see the bottom. While vacuuming I could barely make out where the hose connected to the vacuum.

Had to turn off the filter and pump as the water was well below halfway point on the skimmer, but hopefully by tonight I can get er back up and running.

Kind of in a tight spot with how much to fill up though as the spot on weatherman (I do give lots of respect to them) said we could see no rain or 2-3".

Hopefully it won't hurt the process too much by having the filter and pump off for 4-5 hours. :fingerscrossed:
