New hot tub install questions

My pool builder installed an 8x8 spillover hot tub with Waterway jets (models 210-6077, 210-6087, 210-6097). When the jets are closed (by turning the jet face) and the air bubbler is turned on, is it normal for a large amount of big air bubbles to come out of the jets?

I’ve attached a video showing two of the closed jets with air bubbler turned on for reference. The main reason I'm asking the question is that the large bubbles coming from the closed jets are loud and annoying but if I don't turn the air bubbler on then there's hardly any pressure from the jets. Thanks!

Try and use some of the techniques in Spa Air Blower - Further Reading to tame your air blower.

You should really fix why you do not have adequate spa jet pressure without using the air blower.

Thanks, the air bubbler is an Air Supply Silencer Air Blower, 2.0 HP and is about 40-45 feet from the hot tub.

I'll review the article and see what I can figure out.

The pool builder just called and told me he's coming by to try and replace some of the jets that won't open/close by cleaning them out and putting in new ones. Is there something I can suggest he do to check why the pressure isn't great with the bubbler off?

He can look at the overall spa jet design, size of nozzle orifices, and flow rate into the spa.
