New H400FDN 1F won't start

I just installed this heater and haven't ran it yet except to test it. Should I drain the spa? Also if I don't use tabs how do I properly maintain the spa chlorine levels? I'm considering combining my spa and pool into one body of water so then it would be salt. Would this solve my issue or make the issue worse? Is the chlorinator ok to run with the h400fdn?

Get your test kit and tell us the water chemistry.

Liquid chlorine or install a small SWG for the spa.

Solve which issue?

Once you have a single body of water the water chemistry in the pool and spa will be the same.

Which chlorinator?

You have to carefully watch the water chemistry when using Trichlor tablets.

While you have not run the heater yet, if the heater water is not bypassed, some of the spa water continuously flows through the heater when not running.

I had a long post on here about merging my spa and pool into one body of water. It disappeared over night. Did I inadvertently break a rule...? Or why was my entire post deleted?

The mods merged your threads together since they were both ending up on the same topic…

You can edit the Subject line in the first post to whatever you want the focus of the thread to be.

Keep all the issues with your equipment in one thread. Otherwise it becomes confusing having multiple conversations with you that cover much the same ground.
