NEW Gunite IG pool - West Texas

I can absolutely say that owning a pool using the TFP method is most certainly more enjoyable than construction a pool, deck or patio! ... My hubby keeps talking about pouring more patio soon ... I told him I was taking the summer off!

That's encouraging. I swear this has been an incredibly trying/tiring 4 months. I can't wait to jump in...But I'd better, cause that'd hurt right now.

Equipment arrival has to be a good sign! Has PB given you any ideas of when he might plaster?

I sure hope it's coming to an end soon. He still has quite a bit of tile work to complete...so I'm not overly optimistic about us reaching the May deadline that I gave him last month.

He hasn't let me know a plaster date/approximation.. It's one of the questions on my list when I see him again. This morning was a bit stressful and I completely forgot to ask him that when he called to let me know electricians are to come today (which they did, and by the looks of it they are still working).

Electrical stuff. Not very exciting...I'm just glad that's done and my a/c works again. (Electricians tripped a breaker that took out both a/c units

Hey look, it's a light switch

Mmmm....boxes of electrical goodness

They even open

Hey look a pretty flower!

Oh, pool...here's today's progress.

PB says he's still aiming to be done by end of may.

Thank ya'll for the kinds words. Captain PB is at the house today, I expect the spillover will be completed today (he's working on the final "step" this AM). He's hoping to get that done and make some more progress on the coping today. I have to say, something lit a fire under him. He was working til ~7:30 last night and was at the house an hour or so earlier than usual yesterday and today. He told me he's hoping to get some guys to work this weekend with him, as he wants to plaster ASAP. I'm all for that, as the weather is only getting hotter, and I don't want the temp to be insanely high when they are plastering. Oh and of course I want my pool finished. :D

Once things get closer I'll call my fence guy and hope/pray he comes to finish this job in a timely manner after the plaster is finished. (I imagine I have some serious liability having a filled pool with a ghetto fab. plywood fence section.)

I'm with you on the fence thing. I have a pool *with water in it now!* that won't have a fence until next week. I'm out in the country, but still hoping I don't find some coyote or skunk or something swimming in there. I've not seen the "how to" for removing skunk oil in the TFP Pool School.

Spillway tile is done.

Once he finishes the wall he will grout all the tile. Which is a lot of tile. And it should look even better.

That looks great. Didn't realize it was called a spillover... :-o
Thanks.
It's the thing of many names around here. I honestly don't know what the proper term for it is. But I'm really happy with how it turned out. Wife is ecstatic, so that's good.

That spillover really looks nice. I admire the tile guys that can keep that tile so darn level. Nice work!
Thanks
He was really proud of it when he finished it. You could see it on his face. He even took a picture of it. I'm hoping next weeks progress is even more impressive.

I expect he will have to order more coping for the wall. But that's okay as he can plaster without the coping on the wall.
