New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

is the "app" useful?
It is a 15% premium on the base model 604.
what kind of functionality does it allow?

Edit : Just found the manual... let's you start/stop, which doesn't seem very useful, unless you tend to leave it in the pool all the time which I don't do. And the other is the manual drive where you can send it anywhere you want using directional controls. Could be useful i guess but does not seem like something one would use often...
It’s useful for me, I have our 614iq set to start cleaning at 8am 7 days a week. I don’t touch it until I pull it out to clean filter, then put it back in.

3,

The main problem that I had with the Start button is that it is also the Stop button... And.. there is little to tell you that the button is working..

So you push it, and it seems like nothing is happening, so you push it again, and this just shuts if off... :(

If you look at the top of the power supply, there is a 'Power' light.. When you push the Start button once... the Power light will flicker telling you the robot is on.. Wait a few seconds and the robot will start moving.

We did have a recent post about having to "break in" the Start button, by initially pushing it several times.. Not sure how true that was.. I did not personally have this issue...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Lardo,

The EVO 614iQ has an app for scheduling.. Initially, it did NOT have a scheduling option, but a few months after I did the review, they updated the app to include scheduling.

The app allows you to schedule it to run the days you want, at the time your want, and if you want it to do just the floor, or both the floor and walls.

The EVO 604 is the same robot without the App.. so it can not be scheduled.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Just a quick question. I picked up the 614iQ I've ran it three times and all three times it seems to get hung up in the corner by our stairs. It will go up the stairs then come back down do a spin and head back up. The stairs.

Any tips in hopefully not get stuck in a corner.

Mine goes up steps but I have not experienced that. I did experience it making spin after spin (pool was still nasty), I pulled it out and it had all sorts of things clogged around the propeller shaft. I cleaned it out and has been fine ever since.

Mine sometimes has issues with steps, I simply tell it floor only if I’m not around to keep an eye on it.
