New Construction in Austin, TX

Pool builder said we could swim after 5 days and today is day 6. Was trying told hold off, but this this is too inviting! Pool temp is 80, outside temp is mid 80s. Couldn't ask for a nicer day.

Pool builder came out today and thinks it is the skimmer. They will try and address tomorrow.

Pool is losing about 1-2 inches per day right now. He plugged that skimmer and we are adding water and will see if that is the issue.

Here's a better picture of the issue.

Definitely a sizable leak and not a good sign; on a good note (because of the size) it was noticed early and will get addressed quickly!

PB plugged the obvious leaky skimmer, shut both skimmers off and we still lost another inch last night. The area and soil behind that skimmer is still wet.
He said the crew might have to put a hole in the skimmer concrete encasing and dig up the pipes to equipment pad.

And the fact that we lost more water with the skimmers turned off suggests we might have issue in another area.
Plumber was supposed to be here today to do some prelim. investigation but turned out to be a no show. Meh..

PB has been responsive so that makes things not so rough.

Agreed. Glad it was a big leak now rather than a small leak later.

No luck plugging the skimmer - we still lost almost 2 inches overnight. PB (well, his plumber) should be out tomorrow to pressure test and hopefully fix. PB said they can pressure test everything except the main drain. Hoping to have it resolved this week.

Thank you all....
I don't want to see our water bill this month:(

We have to try to get the water level above the plaster, that means lrefilling2 inches every day.
Just txt'd PB asking about plumber's whereabout. This is just plain frustrating.

Wow, I really hate to read all of that. Like Karen, I have nothing of substance to contribute just a lot of empathy. Just when you thought you were at the finish line, they moved it a few blocks. As you have mentioned, at least they are being responsive. Hopefully it is fixed soon and just a distant "oh remember when?" memory.

I'm not an expert...but I have owned a few houses with natural stone finishes and with Acme brick facades. If your materials are natural stone and if they have not been sealed, then they can absorb some water and even transfer water to the stone next door. I'm not saying that this is what is happening, I'm just saying that this looks exactly like my last house when the rains would over flow my gutters occasionally.
