New build - walls up but nothing else - issue for winter?

Hi all,

Building a new home in Canada. Pool walls are up but winter is here and were about to get a 10cm snow dump. See attached picture of how the pool looks today.

Is there any risk to the structure? I'm not 100% sure, but I thought the pool company told me the pool would be filled with hay. The outside perimeter of the pool has about 3 or 4 feet of concrete that the wall braces are set in.

Is this going to be a mess in the winter or am I safe? If a mess, what should I do today to protect it?

Thanks

What is that on the bottom of the pool?

Hay to fill the pool? Is that to cushion the bottom from the snow/rain?

Sorry for questions instead of answer but want to make sure I understand what you are dealing with and what the PB think is.

The current bottom of the pool is the structural concrete. THey will smooth it out and put the liner in, in the spring.

How are they going to smooth it out?

So long as there is no way for water to get between the back of the walls and the bottom you should be good. You can always get a few big tapes to put down on the bottom to help protect it from rain run off but with the bottom being solid it should be safe.

Your builder is on the right track. The project in photo will “winter over.” The floor material appears to be placed to”hold the dig” and is not the “prepared” substrate liner manufacturers dictate for warranty.

Again, I see no potential liabilities for the project being halted. Leave it as is.
