New Build OKC - Start 4-24-19

You are 100% correct! Crazy how much these trucks cost! Sucks about your neighbor. Hopefully they will start soon. I have heard... well seen great pools from them.
They were out there today as a matter of fact. I feel sorry for the neighbor...he has two young daughters that are ALWAYS outside and are so very ready for their pool paradise!

Ready for your first "job"? Go out to the pool with your plans and a measuring tape. Is it long, wide, deep, etc enough? Add about 8" for the shell and plaster. NOW is the time to fix or tweak as needed or wanted.

Thanks Kim I was doing that as you where typing this :) I do have some questions on the dimensions so my PB is stopping by in the morning. There is a 4" lip just below the form. He says it holds some of the beam weight. My measurements are going off the forms. So in essence I lose 4" (from the lip) and then will lose 6" from the gunite. So a total of 6"+6" (Gunite) 4"+4" (lip) = 20". Is this normal? What is the normal margin of error on the pool size?

How do your measurements compare to the plans? So what you should do is look at what the finished size is stated to be on the signed plans. Compare that to what was dug knowing you need to add on about 8" for the steel, shell, and plaster.

The rain has been ridiculous! I don't really want to complain though since I know I will be complaining in August when it's been 100+ degrees for 60 days straight and no rain in sight...

That looks awesome!!! Glad the rain will help with the watering!

Now it time for you to do some reading about getting the best plaster possible. You will have to work with your PB with this as he holds the warranty card.

All Plaster Finishes Should Last 20 Years
Not All Color Pigments are Good for Pools How to pick a good color for plaster.

Go ahead and ask your PB what test kit he will be providing so we can fill in any holes.
