We thought it would be a month before they started to dig but we got word the other day that I could be as soon as next week. They have already come out and marked utilities.
Exciting times! The dig and gunite build go fast, then get ready for the slow down.

My pool house design I did is very similiar. Check out my build. Might give u some ideas. My living room is in middle with fireplace centered. I have a corner fireplace on my porch and I'm not racy about it but it was a free gift from my dad's best friend so I'm not complaining. My bar kitchen is 11 feet wide and 14 deep and on the end. I pushed my bath back m. Only half bath for no pee trip inside my house. My storage is nextcto that with new electrical service and my panel. All brick to match my home.
I've read through your build thread. I was particularly impressed with your sketches. I was looking at the electrical layout you put together as I'm responsible for all the electrical from the panel in our cabana.

Thanks man. The electrical isn't done yet. It was the easy stuff for now. I have to try and get switched out of the elements cause of winters. I don't know how I'm going to tackle this yet. Those placements are my first run. What I want to do but I know my wife won't let me have all switches in my storage area rely on iPad control. My whole home is zwave. Problem is she doesn't like the idea of it. If my network goes down then u are stuck running back and forth but it has not happened yet. My other idea was the same with just 1 scene controller in the kitchen area for everything bit again same problem. That's how our kitchen. I have 2 scene controllers on our island by cooking area which controls 8 zones of lights in kitchen. Switches are in a cabinet. Side 8 switches on a side of a cabinet would look nuts. Scene controller when u walk into room also. Switches are hidden in cabinet. Bathroom and storage areas would be normal cause they r inclosed. My buddy said if I place everything for kitchen and living room on back wall by grill like I have I should be ok. I am worried about them being zwave though cause of the electronics in them. He said if regular switches I would deff be safe.
I dont have spot light zones on there yet and if my wife wants pendants over the island. I also didn't do my low volt yet cause distributed audio and cameras and distributed video. I need a whole new drawing for that. Plus I haven't decided on final placements. I usually don't lay out audio and video in houses till framed unless it's major stuff like main tv locations. But speakers and runs get done after plumbers and electricians are out so they don't mess my stuff up. Only time I have exact plans are dedicated media rooms. Then I call the shots. Everyone works around me.

Thanks for all the info. I definitely plan to run cat6 and coax for sat out to the cabana. Our internet here is the country blows (DSL 1.5mbs) so I may have to look at other options like sat or broadband internet.
I have a blank slate but not unlimited budget for audio. I have a Bose soundlink bar in my living room but I don't have it connected anywhere else. I plan to have a completely separate network connected system out in the cabana. I haven't decided if that will be Sonos or a Wifi connected receiver running wired speakers. I've got some time to plan that out but based on your experience, I will be soliciting advice.
Plumbing and steel started yesterday. The plan is to gunite next week. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for since there are no inspections out here.
I'm going to ask about these valves for the waterfall. There will be a build up of stone and likely a dirt slope behind it. If so, those valves will be buried pretty deep.
All the equipment is here. I don't think I like it sitting on the side of my house. Things are safe here but there are small items that someone could easily walk away with. I will likely move some it it to my shop.

Looks nice man! I'm in a phone so I can't help with close detail right now! Some things is make sure everything is plumbed. Like correct number of skimmers returns. Make sure returns are as they should be all dedicated back or tied together with proper sized pipe. Make sure skimmers are all dedicated back to pad. Make sure drains are tied in and dedicated back. Make sure rebar is pulled off dirt wall with blocks. So rebar falls incenter of pour. That is big. Make sure that layer of rebar is tied off to the rim rebar so it doesn't move back to dirt when the pressure of gunite hits it.
Check to make sure u got bonding clamps running across length of pool to rebar out of pool on each side. Like maybe 4 to 6 Pete es of rebar the clamps are impt for bonding cause they get buried in the gunite.
When they shoot make sure they get he rebound out of the pool. So anything that was shot and not piled up so it is really caked down get it out. They should be shoveling all day non stop while shooting. Lol. Seriously. If they hit rebar and it doesn't completely bury the rebar and they move to a diff spot it's rebound. Out it goes my builder said. He said it won't bond right and will sound hallow when it dries and u knock on it. He was in the hole constantly scrapes my off rebar and telling them to redo and shoot. My shoot team was awesome about the walls and floors for rebound by not so good on the rebar bonding thing. I have pics in my thread of junior scraping rebar. Also rebound goes out of the pool not on building up the bond beam!!!! One of those big country wide builders by me is natorious for hat. Saves them a ton of money by then u have a hollow beam and that is when u start getting cracked coping and popping tiles cause it's hallow.
Rebound out i learned is a very very important part of the shoot. It's a mess outside the shell but just start shoveling and making piles. That's what I did all day while shooting. Junior was in hole watching them. Juniors main man who speaks Spanish translated and told them what to change and do and I was on shoveling rebound duty. Without my contractor there I would have been at a loss and my shoot team he said was awesome in general but my contractor and his team made a huge difference. Just made it less stressful. They also made sure that all pipes got cleaned around them deeper for hydrolic bonding later. Little things.
U will be fine. These are just little things that I learned along the way. My gunite team didn't mind all of us there. One guy actually stopped me before he left and thanks me for how good they were taken care of and all the help. It did help my wife and mother were feeding them all day too probably.

Steel and most of the plumbing complete. Gunite scheduled for tomorrow. I'm working from home so I can see it get done.
We have a yard full of workers already this morning. Gunite trucks are here.
We caught our first issue. The plumbers piped in 6 jets in the spa when there were suppose to be pulsator jets in as well. They have to come back as the guys are shooting gunite and re-pipe the spa. Good thing I caught this now because after gunite I doubt they would have added them.

Stone work on the walls, spa & coping underway. Waterfall work to begin this week I hope.
Waterfall started today. Coping is done and the walls are almost complete. They have three guys out there working on this.
