Hello All,
Getting close to signing contract on a small in ground pool (20' x15') and spa (9x6'). The builder is "Sophisticated Concepts."

A few remaining questions:

WARRANTY? It appears that PB's are only giving one year warranty's on their workmanship? This seems insane to me, but I guess if there is poor workmanship you have to eat it or go to small claims, etc. Should I get a 10 year warranty on the pool shell in the contract?

WATER FEATURE: I have a water feature on my spa. It will similar to attached picture. (I got rid of the water features in the actual pool.) Should I have a separate pump? It seems like three 12" pans will be too noisy for general conversation. Would a scupper and bowl be better?

JETS vs PUMPS: I desire 10 jets in the 9 x 6' spa. Is one pump sufficient for the spa?

CLEANERS: What should I have installed for pool suction for cleaning AND/OR for Robot Cleaning? I see the Dolphin robotic cleaner on Amazon for about $1,000.

Tremoore2 - nice design!

If you can get more in the warranty, do it. Of course keep in mind a warranty is only as good as the company staying in business. Educating yourself ahead of the build will help you spot shoddy workmanship best and give you the best chance for a good build.

Water features surely can be noisy. I don't have any but have read here multiple times that folks have complained of such. A separate pump will allow you to adjust the water feature as needed without interfering with the pool's needs. Keep in mind even if you turn the water features off, they need to run a small bit daily to keep the water circulated inside those pipes and chlorinated.

I can't answer about the jets vs pumps question, sorry :(

Oh yeah- go with a robot! You can get a VERY nice Dolphin Discovery for $600-800 (depending on sales) from Marinas or Doheney's. Lots of threads on here about those dealers.

Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Keep us posted with pics of the build and any questions you have.

There are pumps made for water features. I will have to look around to find the threads about it. Something about head pressure. You can also do a search in the white box at the top to see if you can find any of the threads about it.

I would think one pump for the jets of the spa would be more than enough.

Water features and noise...........yeah they can be loud. I agree with Maddie about using the pump (slowing them down) to make them quieter.

You will LOVE having a robot to clean your pool. Everyone that has one loves it! Once day I will have one LOL

I would love to see a pic of where this pool and spa are going!
