If you mix the pool water to the line then the CYA regent to the other line then you did it right. I am guessing they did not add any CYA. Did they put tablets/pucks in your skimmer?

The next time you go to town run into Lowes or Home Dept and go to the pool section. They should have some CYA. Walmart will have it as well but they may be busier than the other two.

Now when you go to add it do NOT follow the directions on the bottle. What we like to do is put it in socks and hang them in front of a return. Don't let it touch the sides. You can hang it off a broom handle wiht something sitting on the other end of it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I do believe they put tablets/pucks in our skimmers, but I’m not 100% sure. We were out of town when they filled and then I’ve been sick for weeks now (not corona...I don’t think ?), so I’ve not been as on top of things as I would have liked to have been. I’ll get the CYA added tomorrow. Thanks again!

I love watching build threads on this site and was inspired by many things that I saw here while planning & building our pool, so I figured I’d add some finished photos of our project. We’ve been enjoying the pool for a few months now and the maintenance has been easy peasy thanks to all I’ve learned from this site! Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Kim, the shelf seems to be a hit with the kids. My 11 y/o uses it as a wrestling area ? (even in the rain!) Oh, and jumping from the rocks is their absolute fave!! As for the adults, the spa has been the biggest hit so far. We’ve had a very mild spring (unusual), so I’m sure that will change once it really heats up here!
