Greetings from sunny FL. Just me and the wife in Northern Pinellas County just adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico.

We are building a pool.

Dimension: 14' x 22'6" sort of kidney shaped
Permiter: 66 ft
Surface area: 275 sq ft
Depth: 3ft x 4ft x 5ft
Spa: No
Total Gallons 6928
Plumbing: 2" Schedule 40 PVC
Returns: 3 directional inlets
Skimmers: 1 Aquastar
Drains: 2 8" Hayward
Overflow line: N/A
Cleaner line: N/A
Sheer Descent: 3 sheer descents
Deck Material: Standard pavers (matches exactly what we already have)
Interior finish: plaster in a light finish with blue quartz
Entry: 3 steps with sun shelf
Benches: 20 linear feet
Primary Pump: Pentair SuperFlo VS
Filter: Pentair Clean & Clear 100
Air: Venturi air line
Cleaner: Echo Dolphin
Control: Pentair Easytouch 4
Remote: Pentair Screenlogic
Sanitizer: Pentair iChlor IC30
Light: Pentair Intellibrite Color

We are pretty excited about our small custom pool and I'm just now starting to learn about the care and feeding. Our challenges are a sunny spot and lots of mature slash pines around the perimeter that drop tons of pine straw. Heavy pollen is a concern in the spring. Keeping it clean and swimmable is my main concern.

We are in the permitting phase right now, so not much will happen for a while.

Curious to to hear the hive mind on the mechanicals and plumbing and what have you. Total newb to this, but I'm grateful in advance for the advice I will receive here. I've already started to think about DIY maintenance and this seems to be the spot! Looks like the method taught here is easy to sustain.

Hello and welcome! Nice signature too! Two items I wanted to comment are:
1) Depth - 3’ is quite shallow. Most people go with 3 1/2’ or some even 4.
2) No overflow - Not putting in an overflow in a Florida pool seems like a mistake. Daily rains will overflow your pool in no time. And certainly if you go away for a week in season. And tropical storms? You either get to decide where the water goes or it will decide for you. Plus you lose skimming action once the water reaches the top of the skimmer entrance.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely ask about an overflow. I will ask about the depth as well, but we just want a little cocktail pool to float around in.
 
If you'll ever want to swim laps, 3' is too shallow. Any chance you can expand the pool 2' in length and 2' in width? You're looking at a really small pool right now (especially with that long bench). Equipment sounds good, although the Superflo VS has very limited automation/control

No chance we'll be swimming laps, this is just meant to be a big spa for floating around and spilling drinks. What's the upgrade to the SuperFlo VS?
Edit to say we are limited on space and the pool is as big as is practical and as big as we want.
 
Emailed the designer. There is a 3/4" pvc overflow plumbed off the skimmer. Haven't had any conversations about making the shallow end any deeper. The pool we've spent the most time in has a 3' shallow end and it seems fine to us and we're the ones that will be using it. The smaller volume means it should be warmer earlier in the season when we'll be itching to get in, but I can see it being very warm in the summer season.

I'd get that in the contract terms. Your details above says "Overflow Line: N/A". That way he can't backpedal if they forget it by saying it wasn't in the contract.

Close to starting or close to completion? Post pics!

I just joined here to do my research, we don't want anything as big as a "normal" pool, curious just how big your 14' x 22.5' will look.
