NEW BUILD!! First Pool! (About plaster time!!)

Thank you Jim!

finalizing everything now, I’ll update signature with everything once it’s finalized and pictures of the big hole as it’s dug, I’m sure it’s going to look like a disaster area 😳

T,

The Pool and Spa model can also be used with just a pool or just a spa..

The Pool OR Spa model can only be used with just a pool or a spa, but not both...

Nothing else changes..

Getting the i8PSIC60 will work just fine for you.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim,

now he is saying that pentair is making him order everything separate if I have to have the IC60 which he insisted I didn’t need, but he can get the easytouch Pool and Spa together in a kit, can you tell me the difference between the two as far as what I would be giving up exactly? I know not to get the “lite” version and I know I need the load center for the IC60 integrated, I also hear that I would give up 100 programmable options for 10 (which I’m not sure I would use 100 honestly) is the easytouch more reliable being that it isn’t on WiFi?
I’m looking to run pump, IC60 integrated into load center, pentair heater, 2 intellibrite 5G lights, 2 bubblers, two globrites In the bubblers, equipment pad light, and landscaping lights (later)

what do you think?

T,

I see two options..

1. Go with the EasyTouch 8 with IC60 and +ScreenLogic2

2. Go with the IntelliCenter with IC40..

I believe that the EasyTouch will do everything you want.. It is not the latest and greatest, but it is a proven winner and you do not have a massively complex pool, that will need a lot of extra stuff.

The IntelliCenter with an IC40 will work.. You will just have to run the cell at a higher output and the pump longer.. Not big deal with an IntelliFlo.. The cell will get used up quicker, but costs less so it all evens out. Then just replace the old cell with the IC60 cell.. They both use the same internal power supply.

Keep in mind that any light that you want to independently control will each need a relay and a transformer..

Here is a link to an IntelliCenter with an IC60, but your pool builder may not want to buy from them.. Pentair IntelliCenter i8PSIC60 Kit - Pool and Spa with Load Center and IC60

That brings up controlling water features.. The EasyTouch has two valve drivers that are user programmable.. Each water feature that you want to individually control will need an individual valve and driver.. This would be limited to two with the ET.. I assume that would be enough.. Most likely, you would turn on both bubblers at the same time with one valve.

Thanks,

Jim R.

So, after 3 total days of digging we have a big hole in our yard! I am excited to see how the next steps go. Here are some pictures. Quite a bit of rock (the most my PB has seen in our area in his career he says)

Weather primarily prevented us from plastering, I barely missed the opportunity in December when everything else was completed, and it just warmed up enough to plaster last weekend. I’ll post some pictures soon
