New Build - Dallas Area

Plug all 3 now to prevent damage to threads (the 2 for pump should of already been plugged and system should be under pressure)........ gunite crew should leave a couple of holes in floor and walls, as relief (most companies in South Florida will not shoot a pool without them). When finish crew comes (for your pool finish) they should remove all plugs, reseal the hydro and place your cover on channel drain. They will also hydro the holes gunite crew made.....

SWEET!!! That looks great! Have you started bonding with it yet? aka watering it to help slow down the curing.

It is time for your set of links! The first set is all about what to do and ask about to get a great plaster job. The second set is all about how to care for your pool after you get the plaster.

Now is also a good time to ask what test kit your PB will be providing so we can fill in any holes.

@bdavis466 can you tell him about the forms please?

Thanks for the links and we have been “bonding”. With our Texas heat, we plan to “bond” for 14 days.

I’ll read up on the plaster. We haven’t decided which way we are going yet, but leaning pebble sheen Irish mist.

I just finished visiting with the Plaster Company and we discussed Pebble Sheen. They have been in business for 20 years and do lots of commercial projects as well. They agreed to all the "Plaster suggestions provided in the articles above, except the wait for 6hrs to start filling the pool. They said their certified installers for Pebble Tec and the warranty that comes with it, they start filling the pool before they leave. I asked if I could wait 6 hrs, and they said they follow the guidelines issued by Pebble Tec.

I am confused... do I let them start the fill or do I tell them not to and possibly forgoe the warranty on the finish, or should I press harder?

Tile installed today. Hoping to get the flagstone coping installed next week.

We have a plaster date for July 14. I feel like their is still a lot left to do.

Any suggestions on what pavers you recommend? We like the rustic look of some of the pavers and definitely want to go with larger ones since we have over 1,600 sqft to complete.

Waiting on flagstone to do the coping. Then we can start the decking. Thinking Belgard La Fitt Grana Slab for the pavers.

My pool mason is supposed to be back in 10 days to start the two waterfalls around the slide. Counting down to July 14 for the plaster. Lots of work still ahead.

In the meantime, I’m working on my outdoor kitchen. I think we picked out the granite for it. Ash Blue.F5CD0B67-C049-48E9-B0B5-D3F678E46A67.jpeg

Finally found the flagstone the pool mason was satisfied with! They started today and got half the pool done. I presume they will finish the other half tomorrow and start the spa. Looking good and the wife is happy with the color and texture of the stone.
