We are about to start our pool build. Our pool is a free form 90' perimeter (33'X25') 17,085 gallons. Spa is 7x7 round. A&S white mini pebble with blue glass beads. I will try to post lots of pictures. Any advice or tips are welcome.

d,

Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all new pool builders... :snorkle:

My best advice is to make sure that they don't add any "magic" to your pool, like UV or Ozone, or Mineral Systems... These are all Magic, but without the Rabbit. They do nothing but transfer money from your pocket to theirs... :p

If you can provide us with the specs and an equipment list, we can provide better feedback.

How do you plan to chlorinate your pool?

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.

We decided not to use one of the many local companies. We are using Anthony and Sylvan the Spring,TX location.

That's so exciting. I am jealous!!' I've heard good things about Platium. We haven't broken ground yet. They are coming to layout the pool tomorrow. It has rained so much here lately. Fingers crossed no more rain so everyone's builds move quickly!

Fusion chlorinator or something like that. I'll have to look it up. My husband knows more of the equipment details than I do. We were originally going to do a salt water pool until two different pool companies told us we would have to sign saying they aren't responsible for damaged caused by it. It scared us away so we are going with regular chlorine.

We are using Tallman pools and our dig is scheduled about 2 weeks away. I don't understand all the fear around salt systems. We ran a salt system at our previous pool with no issues. I am a strong believer in them. Will save you money in the long run on chlorine shock as well as easy maintenance of chlorine levels. If you are maintaining your pool yourself I would highly recommend it especially in Southeast Texas.

We originally wanted saltwater. We had Tallman come out to give us a bid and the man who came out to our house recommended chlorine over saltwater and so did Anthony and Sylvan(the company we are using) Our neighbors used Tallman a few years ago and they have saltwater and love it. I wonder why the big change with companies not pushing saltwater now?

Part of me thinks they know there is more maintenance with a non-salt pool to maintain proper chlorine levels and are looking to get pool maintenance contracts after the sale. That is a big revenue source for them.

How was Anthony and Sylvan as far as pricing compared to the local companies?
