New build almost done! California.

First post here, been lurking for a while. In SoCal and almost done with our build. It’s been a long stressful process dealing with our PB who has lacked communication. After delays, an unexpected retaining wall, extra expenses, and many phone calls and texts wondering when we will have work done… we have water! I’ll post some build pics for your viewing pleasure. We broke ground in July, we’re supposed to finish in November. And now it’s January with cleanup and some faulty electrical still left.

It's beautiful! You're "only" 2 months past expected completion date...that's one of the faster builds, hahaha!

Well hello there! I LOVE your design! Your material choses are spot on as well!

So I do have a question. You say the wall was unexpected..........how so? What did they think would hold back all of the dirt? What did the do on the hill side of the wall to help the water drain and where did they send it to drain?

The bond beam on the back of the pool was engineered and sold to us as the retaining wall. But oversight on the design and over excavation of the slope costed us an extra 10,000$ that we didn’t expect. There is drainage behind the retaining wall that runs all the way to front of house.

Sigh.......have to wonder if it was done deliberately......sure hope not but still...gurrrrrrrrrr.

But it is all good now and looks great!!!

Other side of the yard done. No more dirt! Turf was done by a different contractor. About 1000sqft. Before and after pics.
