I am considering a few options to replace my 2008 Janey 2 speed pump running off aqualink RS.

1. Replace with B&D VSP. Half the cost of new Jandy VSP. $900
2. Add a DC solar power 1hp pump that would run when the sun is up and keep the Handy inli e to run the spa and use as a backup if needed. So or could run either pump dependingon the need. $3500
3. Do nothing until the oldJandy needs to be replaced. $30 - 40 per month in electric.

18,000 gallon in ground pool.

Thoughts?

If you are always running your Jandy 2 speed pump on low speed for $30-$40/month then a VSP will have no economic payback.

I would run your 2 sped on low until it dies.
