New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

No, no, no........you are thinking about it all wrong.......it is bonding with your new baby pool! Once you get tired of bonding you can use a sprinkler or two to help you out!

I am not sure what those are for...........Please let us know what the PB says when you ask them..........I want to know too! LOL

I it is time for YOUR set of links. I put these together for new pool owners. It is a lot of info so take it slow. It will all start to click as you start to use it.

Print these out:
Pool School - Basic Pool Care Schedule

Pool School - Recommended Levels

Bookmark these:
Pool School - Recommended Pool Chemicals

Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry

TFP also offers a Pool Math App! Here is the link: Pool Math It is so neat and easy to use!

Make sure to ask any and all questions you might have no matter how small! We have all been where you are at one point.

This is also when you need to ask your PB what test kit he will be providing. Let us know so we can fill in any holes.

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

Black pipes are weep holes that allow rain to come up into the pool rather than it creating upward pressure and floating the shell. They will obviously be filled when the pool is plastered. I have a Taylor k2000c and am super familiar with the above articles Kim. As for what test kit they provide, I doubt I’ll use it much anyway

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

The Taylor K2000c kit does not include the all-important FAS-DPD test for FC, CC up to 50ppm. You can order just that missing part from Tftestkits.net

Whoops, I have the K2000, it does include the FAS-DPD test as it’s what I used last year when I discovered this site and slammed the above ground pool and rid myself of pool stores for life... well almost rid myself, dang acid and DE are hard to find.

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

Just got the call, decking is being poured and the diving board and hand rail were delivered. Will post pics as soon as I get them. Finally got a copy of the selection sheet, the plaster will be Pacific Blue AquaBright (see link for examples) https://www.ecopoolfinish.com/polyfibro/pacific-blue/. We've also decided to go with a robot instead of the pressure side cleaner, but the PB can't sell us a robot as cheap as we can get one online, so they will just credit back the price of the booster pump and cleaner. Since the dedicated cleaner line was already plumbed, the PB is capping the line at both pad and pool and will just install a non-functioning eye-ball. Also, all the return eyes will be black. On a sad note, the construction of the pool will be put on hold as the only thing we lack will be plaster and the PB doesn't want the pool to be filled until construction on the house is (almost) complete. Probably looking at end of May for plaster.

Sad about the delay but it is a good idea. You want to be there for the plaster start up and care. The first month is VERY important for the long life of your plaster.

Kim,

The PB has done a fantastic job, I have one minor quibble about a piece of stone on the coping (and that's just a case of the stone being chipped where it meets the decking), but even after going over everything with a fine tooth comb yesterday couldn't really find anything that we were unhappy with. Can't wait to see what it looks like with plaster. I just hope they have done everything as well that I can't see (they buried the plumbing before I had a chance to inspect).

LeighHop,

Thanks, I think it is perfect for the area.

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

PB fixed the one piece of stone I had a problem with. They replaced the stone completely, I was just expecting them to caulk it or something. He also had the masons replace the tile in one of the skimmers as he didn't like the grout line. He told me they try to get away with stuff in the skimmer because "no one sees inside there anyway." I hadn't noticed the skimmer issue. After reading some more pool build threads, I'm becoming very thankful for our (so far) easy build and seemingly very good builder.
