Hi. I bought a pool kit from family leisure a week ago, and have not started site prep yet due to weather. So I've been reading everything that came with it, and all the great advise on this site. The pool is called Venture, and I can't tell who the manufacturer is. It's 54" x 24 foot round. The sand filter is a waterway ecokleer 26" , 400 pounds of sand. The pump that came with the kit is a single speed 2 hp ecokleer (century motor). There is a waterway wide mouth skimmer. All the water moves thru the provided hoses, which appear to be 1.5 inch id.
I purchased a couple full port ball valves to allow shutoff for possible service.
First, I wish the pump was a two speed, but I will probably put it on a timer.
Second, it seems like the pump and filter would move more water if it had larger plumbing, or a second parallel hose. Does that make sense? Should I add another hole in the metal wall now before assembly and filling? Could I tee in a second fitting to put the water back into the pool from the filter?
Are there any other modifications I should do before filling? I will want a solar heater eventually. Would it be easiest to plumb the solar panel thru it's own small pump and dedicated supply and return fittings, or since my pump is large should I somehow tee the solar into that existing loop? I assume there are times I will want to filter and recirculate, without going thru the solar, correct?
What is the fitting called, which goes in the wall and passes water back into the pool, is that called "eyeball" ? Where can I order one?
I also need a water bonding fitting, and am considering wall foam insulation sheet.
Thanks for all your great advice!

A 2 hp pump is going to move water just fine. You can plumb in a "T" with a valve after the filter for your eventual solar panels. They will need that 2hp oomph to reach the rooftop.
Your pool should come with an eyeball fitting.
I would skip the wall foam. It doesn't help keep the pool insulated at all. All the heat radiates up, not out to the sides, and wall foam is not thick enough to add any R-value to the pool.
