Mknauss quick question, I’m seeing a TF-100 Salt kit and also the K-1766. Which is recommended between the 2 or does the TF-100 kit include one or the other?

If you do not have the full test kit yet (your signature implies that) then you should go to Test Kits and order the TF100 and select the Taylor K1766 under Optional Items. I suggest also getting the SpeedStir. It makes testing much easier.

Thanks Mkauss, Ordering kits later today, I’m probably at least 3 weeks out getting my pool installed. My ground is about 1/3 level now, it’s kicking my butt. Hope it’s ok jumping on this tread? New install with county water supplied from my garden hose, I purchased 8-40lb bags of Morton salt. Should I wait before tossing all 8 bags in or start off with like six/seven bag then test? I’ve read that I should also hook up the vacuum to get circulated well from middle bottom of pool? Thanks again for all the help and replies.��

You should test the salt content of the water after your pool is filled. You probably have 200ppm or so salt in your city water.
Get the pool water chemistry stable using liquid chlorine, acid, etc before adding the salt.
Shoot for the low end of your range when you add salt. Easy to add more.
Circulate the pool, run the brush around, use the vacuum, etc to mix the salt well. Start the SWCG the next day.

Yes above ground, 15x30x54, salt has to get to a certain level to get salt generator working correctly right? I’ll research that, thanks
