My current one is a Hayward 1.5hp single phase. It’s a 29k gallon salt pool. I’d like to get you guys take on what’s a good replacement. Thank you.

The gold standard is a Pentair Intelliflo VS 011018 or 011028.
But, there are lots of other VS pumps out there for a lower price and a better warranty for DIY install. See InyoPools for a selection.

I was quoted a Hayward super pump pro series with a 3 yr warranty for about $740 installed. Just don’t want to get a crappy pump.

Is that a VS pump? Getting a single speed pump is not longer a good idea. Next year you will not be able to buy a single speed motor anymore.
In need of assistance please. I’m being told that some of the pumps I’m looking at aren’t “professional grade” pumps and they can’t sell them. What determines a professional grade pump?

A 'professional' grade pump means they are only sold through installers, etc. They are the same pumps as you can buy on Amazon or other outlets. Just named differently.
