Need to Retest CYA During a SLAM?

After initially testing CYA prior to starting a SLAM, is there a need to retest CYA during the process? Or can I limit such subsequent testing to FC and keep it at the originally set FC target, based on the initial Chlorine/CYA ratio?

Thanks
Bill

You only need to test CYA once a month, or if you exchange a significant amount of pool water to fresh, either from draining, overflow due to rain, etc.

During a SLAM, test only FC. CC at the end to confirm completion.

Only time I suggest testing CYA during a SLAM is if there may be question about the accuracy of the first test.

For example, if someone is following all the steps of SLAM perfectly, but isn’t seeing results two weeks in and has verified it isn’t a pump/filter issue, or an issue of gunky hidden areas, it’s a good idea to make sure CYA is what they thought it was.
