Hi,
I'm not sure what material this pool is made of and how to patch this.
Do I need to hire a professional?
Picture attached. I could also have a 15-second video up soon (on yt as unlisted) - let me know.
Thank you!
Looks like plaster over gunite. I see a crack running to the upper left. Do how much of the plaster is delaminating? A patch will not hold if the areas around are coming loose. Really looks like you need a replaster job.
There are pool plaster repair materials. None will look pretty and match the colors.
This is the pool floor.
I think it's also plaster. I also see small crack now that you mention it.
I don't know the age of the pool, we bought this house 2 years ago.
You really need to drain the pool and properly prepare the surface to have it stick. I have tried to do underwater repairs of grout and it is very difficult. Best to put a bonding coat on the gunite then plaster patch.
