Hi everyone, I just joined the forum, but have been reading it for a few years. Our pool has an older Pentair Challenger High Flow pump that has been on for at least the 8 years we have been here, but I am assuming its much older than that. I have done repairs to it over the years such as impeller, seals, motor and front housing. It is leaking again where the discharge comes out of the front housing. I am tired of always having to fix something or other on this pump and am thinking it is time to just replace the whole thing.
What pumps/brands would you recommend? Pentair vs Hayward? I would like to eventually be able to control the pump with my phone, as far as being able to turn it on/off. My sister/brother-in-law are able to turn on/off their pool equipment from anywhere with their phones. I don't need automation as far as turning off skimmers/drains etc, just want to be able to be able to control the pump/lights from my phone.
Our pool is approximately 35,000 gallons, with a 9-10 ft deep end. It has a pebble finish. Filter is a FNS plus 60 ft. It is a saltwater pool with a Pentair IC60 generator. We also do not run a booster pump anymore after upgrading to a Polaris VRXiq automatic cleaner.
Thanks!!
