I took apart my Nautilus INS 48 DE filter, cleaned it and am trying to put back - I can get all of the cartridges lined up but when I put it back in the tank it looks off kilter and the cartridges fall out. We can't seem to get the two long screws to stay together and everything falls apart. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

you mentioned DE filter then you say cartridges fall out. do you have pictures? I am in Neshanic Station. I can swing by and give you a hand if needed.

You need to assemble the "cartridge" before you put it back into the filter housing. Also there is usually 1 plate that is not as long/wide so look for something on the piece that connects it all together to say where this one goes. The others just follow the flow of the bottom plastic connector piece. It takes a little cajoling to get them all properly lined up but once they do, they click into place and you can then screw it all together.
