I have used the TFP advice often and found it to be very worth while. It has been a long time since I first accessed this site for help. But now, I am questioning my abilities. I have a 25000 gal saltwater pool surround by river birch trees. I live in south Georgia and the trees have dumped their seeds / pollen. My pool was great during the winter but now has turned to a deep green. I have added chemicals (liquid chlorine 10%) for shock level and balanced the water as follows: pH 7.6, ALK 120, Salt 3200, CYA 90 and FC 20.5. Unfortunately, I also added an algaecide about 4 days ago. I have maintained these levels for 4 days and have ran my pump/sand filter continuously. I am now seeing a somewhat lighter green but certainly not clear. The wife is pushing for a professional to come in but I am resisting. Also, there is a small amount of foam on top of the water. The question is: Shall I wait a few more days and hope for improvement or follow the advice of my lovely wife? I have heard of the SLAM method but I don't know what it is. Also, I have 2 packets (enough for 20,000 gals) of dry shock I could add ..... but, I am unsure if it would help. Any advice is welcome. Jim
