The Taylor kit was below 100 and the test strip showed 150 CYA so I was unsure what value to put

I'm gonna do partial drain and refill and test again. I shouldn't add no chemicals until I fix my CYA right?

First, I’d order a proper test kit. A Taylor K2006C or a TF100. The TF100 is a better value.
There’s no sense in attacking the problem if you don’t have one of those kits.

To confirm the actual CYA, you need to dilute the sample. From there, you can post a full set, get advise on precisely what to do and set yourself up for success. If I were you, I’d want to drain and refill one time, and knowing precisely your CYA can do that…

My level looks like it dropped with one partial drain and refill. I'm gonna do it again hopefully I can bring it down.
