Is it safe to use regular laboratory hydrochloric acid instead of store bought pool acid

I think they are the same if you have a better source then at the big box stores.

Reagent grade HCl is higher purity, but A LOT more expensive. It’s like putting 97 octane rated gas in car that only needs 87 octane. But hey, if that’s all you have then go for it.
