Need a backwash plumbing solutino

Hi TFP,

My backwash was plumbed so that the end of the line ends up in my front garden and white DE is getting all over the plants (along with the pool water and other chemicals). I'm told that they used a 2 inch pipe with a 3" cover. The picture with the measuring tape is the end of the line in the garden and the other 2 pictures are near the pool equipment. Any ideas of how I can fix this? Maybe if there was an easy way to screw on/off a drainage hose to the 2" pipe and drain to the street every time I backwash? Thanks for helping.

Glue a threaded coupling onto the pipe and then use one of these with a backwash hose. I use a hose clamp to keep the hose on the fitting. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Aqua-EZ-Hose-Adapter/3151503

Thanks. I'll check and see if they make one for a 2" pipe. Also, I would like to not use a clamp as I want easy on/off since it will be very noticeable in my small front yard. Appreciate it!

I use flex PVC for my backwash. It is heavy and a PITB to deal with, but is has a threaded union that I can just screw to the PVC plumbed to the filter. I drag it out, back wash, and then take it off, roll it up and store it under the deck. It's hardly ideal, but it would do the same for you. It would be also possible to use a short piece of PVC with a threaded union at one end and the fitting pictured about on the other, which would allow you use a lighter hose but have a nice threaded union to quickly connect.

A hose camp goes on and off with a screwdriver in less time than it took me to type this.

I roll up the backwash hose and store it with the hose adapter and the clamp. The only thing that is permanent is the female threaded end glued on the outlet pipe from the filter.

I don't think it could be much easier and less permanent.
