My salt cell meter reads 3100 (Hayward T15) but when I actually measure, I get 3800. What may cause this discrepancy and does it matter?

Unfortunately, both the SWG and salt test itself have testing variations. Those can up together to be quite substantial at times. Yet we still test our own salt level so that we are able to confirm any FC production problems that may be related to the SWG. For now, if the SWG is working fine and producing the FC you need, all is good.
