Hey guys, I am new to the forum. I have a Pentair EasyTouch control system. I lost power about a month ago. Since that time, I am only able to toggle the heater on and off when in service mode. When in auto, once the filter pump is on, the heater stays on and I am unable to toggle it off either on the control panel or my app. Please help. I have tried to turn on and off the fuse and it continues to do the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

From your photo, your EasyTouch is calling for heat to get your pool to 93°. Can you simply turn that setting down to something lower than your water's current 87° and see whether the heater shuts off then?

C,

Do you have ScreenLogic??? If so, show me this page...

When in the Service mode nothing is automatically done, it is all manual.. When in the Auto mode, the computer does things automatically. If the schedule is calling for heat, it is going to try to heat..

Tell us more..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks for the help guys. The schedule does not have the heater to be turned on. I am not able to toggle the heater on or off when I press the heater button on the main board or when I try to turn the heater on or off in the app. For instance, let’s see the heater is running while the filter is running… If I turn the heater on or off from the app, it does not change what is going on on the board if that makes sense. The only time I can turn the heater on or off regardless of the temperature, just a setting, is when it is in service mode. It will not allow me in auto

The ET is operating correctly. The Heater button is inoperative in Auto mode. The ET is calling for heat because you have the target temperature set to 93°.

Hey guys, I have now narrowed it down. Basically, I am unable to control what the heater is doing from the screen logic control panel nor my app. I can turn the heater on or off and change the temperature on the app or control panel and the heater continues to be on regardless. Any thoughts??

C,

What happens when you adjust the set point on the app below the actual temperature of the pool water.. It might take a minute of so, but the heater should quit heating.. The heater will not shut off, just quit heating..

Show us a screen shot of your main page.. It might not look like mine, but it should have the same basic info..

Thanks,

Jim R.

In auto mode, have you tried turning the heater setpoint temp down to less than the current pool water temp?

I can turn the heater on or off when it comes to what the icon shows on the control panel. I can put the pool temperature below what the actual temperature is, and the heater continues to turn on. It is like it is not listening to the automation. The only way I can turn the heater off, is to manually turn down the heater temperature on the actual heater itself, if that makes sense.

C,

The automation controls the heater via a little relay on the main board.. The gas heat connection. All the relay does is open or close the fireman's switch (loop) between the heater and the automation.

Make sure that there is a two wire cable between the heater and the gas connection on the back of the EasyTouch board.

Depending on the heater, you may have to set the heater to "External Control"

What specific heater do you have???

Thanks,

Jim R.
