My journey through slamming my pool

I just wanted to make this post as a testament to the SLAM method. My pool has always been clear but would only hold approximately .5ppm of chlorine. Also every time I would add extra chlorine it would turn brown or green from iron in the water.

I went ahead this week and started on Sunday night with the SLAM. These images show the progress each day Monday through today, which is Friday. The pool was clear before the SLAM and turned nasty overnight from the chlorine added. It took 5 days for everything to filter out and 2 cartridge filter cleanings to get all the iron out. I’m hoping that moving forward I won’t have to use nearly as much ascorbic acid to keep the water clear when chlorinating.
Also the pool looks better than ever!

Great job. I’m in the process of slamming and too am making progress. 2 days ago the overnight loss was 5ppm. This morning it was 2ppm. I’m hopeful tomorrow is the day.

Enjoy the spoils of your effort!
