New home and first pool. Water is 2 weeks fresh.
Have been using trichor to build up CYA. From now on I am going to
switch to liquid chlorine.
The previous owner has been dumping trichor over the years.
CYA is way of the chart. Drain 2/3 water and CYA is still off the chart.
I don't know how many times I need to half drain the water to get CYA
to acceptable level. Feel guilty of wasting so many water. So I drain the
whole pool and refill it.
Of course, the pool starts to leak 1 inch a day. I have some one to fix it.
I believe the hole on the vinyl is there before the drain. The drain separates
the vinyl from the wall so it leaks much faster. Now every thing is good.
I have been using the OTO test to watch the chlorine level. Just get
the TF100 kit. This is my first time to use the kit. I can see why the DPD
test is better. Changing color from red to blue is much easier to read than
the yellow scale.
The water is very clear.
